Description

I believe in the power of human connection, compassion and storytelling. As an Associate Member of Celebrate People I love working with people to making life-changing events as meaningful and inclusive as possible. I’ve retreated from the corporate world to try to put more purpose into my own life. I worked in the Information and Records Management Industry, mainly within the NHS and Council sectors, and now want to give myself more time, and in doing so, help others.

I live in East Lothian with my wife. I have two grown-up daughters. We’ve lived here for over 25 years, but we’re still not locals! We are well known locally, though, for our epic BBQs, and through our memberships and associations locally and nationally.

I am frequently under the bonnet of my 1968 MG Midget classic car and may occasionally appear at events with the car assuming weather conditions suit.

I look forward to taking part in ceremonies both local and wherever needed. Please feel free to reach out if you want to.

I just wanted to say thank you again for the beautiful service that you did for Robin, everyone thought that you did a truly excellent job of capturing who he was and it really did feel like it was being read by a friend talking fondly about him. And thank you again for all your support at what was a difficult time, it was nice just to be able to talk it all through with yourself.

We at Funeralcare have been using Allan as a funeral celebrant for our clients for the last 18 months. He is accessible when we need him and keeps in touch throughout the arrangement process. The families for which he has officiated the services for have found him approachable, taking time to meet with them and listen to their thoughts and accommodating to their wishes. It is good for the families to have the choice of a gentleman celebrant, who is compassionate and professional, which is what Allan is.
