The vehicle currently has a small outstanding finance balance, which will be fully settled before completion of the sale. The buyer will not be taking over the finance.
A small, non-refundable token deposit will be required once the buyer has decided to proceed and wishes to reserve the vehicle. This is to protect against non-serious commitments and last-minute cancellations.
I have other financial commitments and have been setting aside the money from the sale for something else. If I reserve the vehicle for a buyer and they subsequently withdraw, it would be difficult for me to rearrange those funds. The token deposit therefore confirms that the buyer is serious about proceeding.
Viewings, test drives and independent checks are welcome before the deposit is paid.
