Electric motorbike moped scooter spares/repair
I have for sale my 2017 Bodo Alpha Electric scooter motorcycle.
I have had some issues with this electric scooter, it failed it’s MOT on a sticking/binding front brake calliper approximately 2 years ago.
Since then it’s 72v lithium battery has discharged and would no longer charge, I took it to a battery specialist who deemed the battery irreparable and decommissioned it.
It is registered with the DVLA and has a V5C. It is the 3000 watt model which is registered as category L3 which I believe means it is classed as a 125cc power and requires the rider to have at least a CBT motorbike license.
When it was working properly it was capable of speeds of approximately 40mph however it did have a restriction function which restricted it to 28mph. (At the time I believed this may be ridden as a 50cc moped with the restriction in place however from reading articles on the internet this does not appear to be the case, I believe you need the CBT motorbike entitlement).
I can demonstrate the bike working (not on the road) with a 60v lithium battery which I had for another bike, this can operate this bike but would not be powerful enough to reach its full potential. It would require a replacement 72v 30ah lithium battery.
It has barely covered 1300 miles from new.
The bike would need to be trailered away or it may fit in a van.
It’s being sold as spares or repair due to the MoT failure and no battery.
