Posting for 5+ monthsSymphonia (Hurdy Gurdy) by Robert Mandel
Salford, Manchester

Description
This fantastic Hurdy Gurdy presented in the form of a symphonia by Robert Mandel is a full chromatic two octave instrument. Beautifully crafted by the renowned Robert Mandel this is a rare opportunity to own a brand new instrument immediately without joining a waiting list. This was delivered a few weeks ago, but unfortunately circumstances mean it is no longer able to be played and enjoyed. Further details can be obtained from Roberts website.
This model is fully chromatic (23 buttons) and is capable of playing a wide repertoire, although its external form is that of the medieval symphonia. Three strings : melody g4 and drones C3 and c4. This is very well made and will be supplied with a replacement set of strings , cotton wool (for cottoning the strings) and a leather carry bag.
These instruments rarely come up for sale and this is in new (unplayed) condition.
This was only delivered recently and although I have listed it as open to offers the actual price reflects the cost of the instrument and the VAT and import taxes as well as the accessories. You are free to get in touch to ask questions about the instrument, but please don’t contact me directly with an offer, make your offer via ebay where the parameters of acceptance are set.
It is worth mentioning that this instrument has a wooden wheel as opposed to the plastic wheel which is shown on his site.
Hurdy Gurdys are expensive instruments but Roberts Symphonia are well regarded as great value for money, with a lovely sweet sound and are super instruments for beginners in particular. You can see clips of his instruments on YouTube to hear what they sound like or direct on his website.
Please note the final picture is from publicity.
