Vintage Sony Walkman WM-F9
FM/ AM Radio Cassette Player (Working)
The Sony Walkman WM-F9 is a portable cassette player with an integrated AM/FM stereo radio, introduced in 1984. It was the European/Asian counterpart to the Sony WM-F8 model. While it is relatively large model for a Walkman, it offered good performance, supporting chrome and metal tapes.
Today, the WM-F9 is considered a collector's item, & finding a fully functional unit can be challenging due to its age.
Summary of key features:
Cassette Player: Simple player with cue/review, fast forward, & rewind functions.
Radio: AM/FM stereo tuner with a built-in FM stereo decoder. The headphone cable serves as the FM antenna.
Indicators: Two LED indicators are visible through the cassette door, one for battery strength and another for FM stereo signal reception.
Controls: The minor controls, such as the tape selector, winding keys, tape/radio switch, & waveband switch, are scattered around the device's exterior.
Condition: Working and in good condition
