Description
This homemade cage is a sturdy, creative enclosure designed to provide a safe and comfortable home for a small pet such as a bird or hamster. The cage frame is made from lightweight wood or recycled metal wire, ensuring both durability and ventilation.
For birds, the cage features evenly spaced metal airflow while preventing escape. A small door with a simple latch provides easy access for cleaning and feeding. Inside, there are natural wooden perches, a small swing, and feeding cups attached to the sides. The base is lined with newspaper or a removable plastic tray to catch droppings and make cleaning simple.
For hamsters, the cage has solid sides up to a few inches high to hold bedding material like wood shavings or shredded paper. The upper walls are wire mesh to allow ventilation. Inside, there’s a you can add cozy nesting box, a running wheel, tunnels made from cardboard tubes, and a small water bottle attached as needed. A hinged lid or front door allows easy access for maintenance.
The overall design emphasizes comfort, safety, and sustainability, using easily available household materials. Whether for a chirping bird or a scurrying hamster, the homemade cage offers a personalized and caring touch to pet housing.
