For sale is a charming original animal study by the South Carolina artist George Griffith, known widely as ‘Griff’ (1929 - 2017). This piece, dated 2005, features a beautifully rendered pig in charcoal and light pastel on a heavy, textured fibrous paper.

Griff’s signature gestural lines and attention to form are on full display here, capturing the character of the subject with the minimalist elegance he was known for in his later rural life series.
