Selling this beautiful piece of foil art as nowhere for this having recently decorated.
This is a stunning gold foil etching of Moses Pitt's 1681 World Map. Approx size 25'' x 21'' including frame.
Moses Pitt (c. 1639–1697) was a bookseller and printer known for the production of his Atlas of the world, a project supported by the Royal Society and in particular by Sir Christopher Wren.
