Description
A framed print of Defended to Death, a classic 1983 photomontage by the prominent British political artist and activist Peter Kennard.
Created originally as an anti-nuclear poster, the image combines a photograph of planet Earth with a gas mask, featuring goggles displaying national flags and a mouthpiece bursting with nuclear missiles.
This piece was featured in the major retrospective exhibition Peter Kennard: Archive of Dissent at the Whitechapel Gallery in London. This is a framed version of the gift shop print which was produced on newspaper style paper.
The frame is a white Ribba frame 73x53cm
It's ready to hang with a wire on the back, perfect for adding a bit of edge to a room.
The frame itself has some light signs of wear and the underside has some minor curl up, not easily visible and easily restorable with some tape or glue.
