Description
Barely used, Niu NGT scooter.
Purchased just before COVID, when I lived closer to work but as I have since moved and not travelling into work anymore, it's sitting unused!
The mileage is very very low, the batteries have been kept well maintained and charged.
(Electric vehicles outside lose their charge quickly over winter, so I have been keeping the batteries indoors to limit the need to keep charging, and maintain the health of the batteries for long-term usage).
Originally bought from the Niu stockist in East London.
This scooter is the equivalent of a 125cc scooter.
I've been riding it without L plates as I have a full motorbike licence.
I bought it to replace my Vespa - as a greener, electric moped - and it handles and rides just as well, if not better than a petrol Vespa!
It passed it's MOT May 2024, with zero issues, and given it is electric, there is very little that gets tested (£29)! Therefore it's super cheap to maintain. Taxing is also free as it's an electric vehicle.
It has since been SORN and stored, so needs a new MOT but has done no mileage since the last test in 2024, and so should have zero issue passing again!
Unable to update the location, but is actually in Bourne, Lincolnshire, NOT Orpington.
--Charging--
It's cheap to charge the batteries - probably no more than £1 for full batteries (there's 2 - one under the seat and one in the footwell) and with that you can then do about 60 miles.
It takes about 4-6 hours for a full charge - the bike can either be plugged in (using a standard household plug/socket), or you can remove the batteries from the bike and plug these indoors using the extra fittings. Please note though that you cannot charge this with the charging points/cables for cars - slight annoyance, but the fact you can easily take the batteries out, it means you can charge them anywhere you have access to a standard socket!
--Features--
3000w Bosch Electric motor
2 x 60v Panasonic lithium batteries
Front and rear disc brakes
Weight - 105kg
Top speed of about 50mph
Digital dash (showing in MPH, having contacted Niu's support team, they were able to over-the-air update the software as they come as standard with KMH)
Full location tracking, so you can easily find where you parked it!
Built in immobilizer
USB charging point for your phone as you ride
It makes use of braking technology, convert braking into power back into the batteries
Auto turn-off of indicators as you turn
Connectivity to your phone with the NIU app
Has economy settings for speed to minimise the power used
Please note - no test rides due to insurance/theft purposes(!) unless you are able to provide full amount in cash upfront, however I can demonstrate it working for you.
Any questions, just ask.
Thanks, Charlotte
