Description

Every year we prune the Oak & Elm trees in the surrounding farms to stimulate growth and in turn helps to keep the trees healthy. The cuttings are stored in our drying houses where the timber is seasoned by air drying to reduce the moisture content.

The cuttings are then sorted into various sizes and grades.

These doorstops have been made from solid Elm and finished in a dark antique varnish.

At Field & Forge we only use materials that we can source locally or that we can upcycle.

The black leather ring handle was sourced from a local leather clothes manufacturer, these were once offcuts of new belts.

For the base of the doorstops we have added a black rubber matt. These were previously rubber matts that had been discarded and have now been repurposed to not only protect your floor but to also provide slip resistance.
