A wonderful and highly decorative 19th-century cast iron doorstop depicting a stork, believed to represent the stork from Aesop’s famous fable “The Fox and the Stork”, dating to approximately c.1860.

An unusual and characterful antique piece, beautifully modelled with the stork standing proudly on a substantial base. The heavy cast iron construction gives it excellent weight and presence, making it both a practical doorstop and a fantastic decorative antique.
