Antique 19th-Century Continental Pine Settle Bench — Original Folk-Painted Panel
A handsome antique pine settle bench, likely Central European (Hungarian/Austrian/Scandinavian country furniture), dating to the 1800s.
The back features a shaped crest rail and three recessed panels, with the central panel retaining its original hand-painted folk decoration in red, blue and cream — faded and worn exactly as you'd want on a piece this age. The rest has been stripped to bare pine and waxed, showing lovely warm grain and honest wear.
Solid construction throughout with pegged joints, turned front arm supports, and chunky square legs. Sturdy and completely usable — seats three to four comfortably.
Perfect as a kitchen dining bench, hallway seat or boot room bench.
Condition: Good antique condition. Some scuffs, scratches and old repairs consistent with age and use. Structurally sound and solid.
