Description

Complete quantity of metal channel, perimeter angle and suspension/fixing components suitable for constructing a suspended plasterboard ceiling or a metal-framed wall lining system.

The channel and perimeter angle were supplied by a UK supplier. The suspension/fixing components are predominantly French Chabanne Bâtiment fittings.

This is a proper plasterboard support system rather than a lay-in ceiling tile grid. Plasterboard is fixed directly to the metal channels.

• 51 × 2.4m ceiling channels - 122.4 linear metres in total
• 22 × 3.6m perimeter angle sections - 79.2 linear metres in total
• Large quantity of suspension/fixing brackets
• Chabanne Suspente Pivotante twist-lock channel hangers
• Articulated/pivoting suspension hangers
• Chabanne Demi Collier Oméga components
• Chabanne Suspente P9 components
• Channel joining pieces for joining/extending the 2.4m sections
• Threaded rod fittings and assorted additional ceiling fixing components
There are more than enough suspension and fixing components for the quantity of channel supplied.

Approximate ceiling coverage
The plasterboard support channels are installed at 400mm centres to suit plasterboard.
There is enough 2.4m ceiling channel for approximately 49m² at 400mm centres, subject to room dimensions and layout.
The ends of the channels are supported by perimeter angle securely fixed to the walls, with intermediate suspension points fixing the channels back to the existing ceiling structure or joists. Some of the supplied suspension fittings are pivoting types. Joining pieces are included to connect channels where runs longer than 2.4m are required.

Ideal for:
• Lowering an existing ceiling to create space for additional insulation
• Creating a service void for electrical cables, pipework, lighting and other services
• Forming a new level ceiling beneath an uneven or damaged existing ceiling
• Loft, barn and garage conversions, extensions, workshops and renovation projects
• Use as a vertical wall lining system to straighten, flatten or square off uneven walls and irregular room dimensions
• Creating space behind wall linings for insulation, electrical wiring, pipework and other services
The same principle can therefore be used horizontally for ceilings or vertically as a plasterboard wall lining framework.

The metalwork is unused surplus from our own building work and has normal marks from storage and handling.
