Giant Defy 4 Endurance Road Bike - 16 speed Size 54cm/Medium **LOW HOUR EXAMPLE**
Yate, Bristol
£150
Description
Welcome to the listing of my beautifully presented Giant Defy 4 endurance road bike in a striking dark metallic blue and white colour way which really is fantastic to look at.
The bike is in amazing condition. Bar a few marks here and there, mainly from storage, you genuinely could pass this up as a boxfresh example, especially as, this is a genuine low hour bike that simply has not been used. It still features it's original Giant finishing kit which includes tyres, wheels, bar tape, stem, handlebars and much more.
Everything works as it should, the gears select as you'd expect from Shimano quality, the brakes are super sharp and all bearings are smooth as silk.
The bike is in a medium (54cm) sizing and would suit riders from 5ft 7 up to a max of 6ft as stated from Giants online size guide. The Defy 4 features a carbon fibre fork and a 2x8 Shimano Claris groupset. This benefits from a long cage rear mech and a big 32t cassette out back for better climbing.
It would make the ultimate entry level road bike for someone wanting to get into the sport or a great winter/commuter hack for the more seasoned rider. I've had 3 of these now at various points in time and alongside a Specialized Allez, they make the best introduction into it.
In preparation for sale, the bike has had a thorough wash using Muc Off bike specific cleaning products, drivetrain de-greased, fresh Muc Off wet chain lube applied correctly and a check over all bolt torques to ensure it's safe to ride. You may notice there are no pedals in the photos. I will be keeping my SPD-SL pedals and a new pair of generic black plastic pedals will be fitted once they arrive so you'll be good to go.
Negatives? There are a couple. As stated before, there are a few storage marks but very minor. These can hardly be picked up on photos but they're there. There is also a small tear in the saddle. I've chosen not to replace this as saddles can be quite a personal item that really is chosen of your fit. The first thing I would upgrade personally. A comfy bike is a fast one.
New bikes are becoming extremely expensive. This bike mimics the 2025 Giant Contend 2 in terms of its specification and that is currently RRP of £750! This maybe a couple years older than that bike but the savings are astronomical. Why pay more? Save the cash for kit, upgrades, a GPS computer? It's a no brainer. Don't let your roadie friends put you off the fact of this model having rim brakes either... Dual pivot caliper brakes are far more superior in their performance as opposed to a budget cable actuated disc.
If you've made it this far, thanks for taking the time to read. Only very sensible offers will be entertained. Photos surely speak for themselves? Any questions or advice, please do not hesitate to ask. Many thanks.
