Description

We are currently recruiting for Police Staff Investigators to work for our client Merseyside Police at their Admiral Road Police Station in Liverpool.

These roles are temporary ongoing positions working Monday to Friday.

About the Role:

As a Police Staff Investigator, you'll be at the forefront of tackling serious and complex crime. This pivotal role involves:

Investigation Mastery: Undertake thorough investigations, preparing comprehensive case files while ensuring compliance with legal and procedural standards.

Team Collaboration: Work alongside Senior Investigating Officers and other key personnel to support Level 1, 2, and 3 investigations.

Communication Excellence: Conduct interviews with witnesses and suspects, preparing detailed reports that uphold the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.

Crisis Management: Handle challenging situations with poise, prioritising tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage allocated cases, multitasking across various serious investigations.

Oversee the disclosure process and maintain meticulous records.

Liaise with external agencies, including the Crown Prosecution Service and local authorities, to facilitate the investigative process.

Support hate crime management, providing essential advice and assistance to prevent and address these critical issues.What We're Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

Strong Investigative Skills: Proven experience in investigations with a solid understanding of criminal law and procedures.

Excellent Communication: Ability to articulate complex information clearly, both in writing and verbally.

organisational Prowess: Proven ability to plan, prioritise, and manage a demanding workload.

Team Player: Comfortable collaborating with various stakeholders while maintaining integrity and confidentiality.

Essential Qualifications:

Proven inter-personal and communication skills, both oral and written.

The post holder must be able to write and produce comprehensive letters and reports to a high standard.

Ability to plan and organise, manage priorities, balancing their workload and work to deadlines monitoring delivery to ensure required standard is met.

The post holder must be willing and able to undertake relevant courses to enable them to conduct criminal investigations together with the ability to interview witnesses and victims and interview suspects. They must have or be able to work towards gaining a sound and accurate working knowledge of legislation and procedures relevant to the documenting, handling and storage of exhibits, the responsibilities and procedures in respect of disclosure.

Ability to work in a small team with minimum supervision

You must be able to pass the Police Vetting Criteria
