Lettings Negotiator Location

Croydon, South London

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and professional Lettings Negotiator to join our busy property team. The successful candidate will be responsible for marketing available properties, conducting viewings, securing tenants, negotiating tenancy agreements, and providing excellent customer service to landlords and tenants.

Key Responsibilities Lettings & Property Viewings

Conduct property viewings with prospective tenants.
Match applicants to suitable properties based on their requirements.
Promote and market available properties through various channels.
Negotiate rental agreements between landlords and tenants.
Follow up on enquiries and viewing feedback.
Tenant Applications & Referencing
Process tenant applications and referencing checks.
Collect and verify required documentation from applicants.
Liaise with tenants, landlords, guarantors, and referencing companies.
Ensure all compliance requirements are met before move-in.
Landlord Relations
Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords.
Provide rental valuations and market advice.
Keep landlords informed of progress throughout the letting process.
Assist with onboarding new landlords and properties.
Administration & Compliance
Prepare tenancy agreements and related documentation.
Ensure compliance with Right to Rent regulations and other legal requirements.
Maintain accurate records on company systems.
Coordinate move-in dates and key handovers.
Assist with deposit registration and tenancy administration.
Business Development
Generate new landlord and tenant leads.
Identify opportunities to increase instructions and occupancy levels.
Support marketing initiatives and local networking activities.
Achieve individual and team performance targets.
Skills and Experience
Previous experience in lettings, estate agency, sales, or customer service is preferred.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
Confident, professional, and target-driven approach.
Good organisational and administrative skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property software systems.
Desirable Qualifications
Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).
Knowledge of residential lettings legislation and compliance requirements.
Experience conducting property viewings and negotiating tenancies.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

Occasional evenings and Saturdays may be required.

Salary

Basic salary plus commission structure, dependent on experience.
