Description

A delightful presentation of one of the Malvern hill's finest exports, the Morgan roadster. This particular example is a 1978 four seater roadster, nicely presented with a few choice upgrades and boasting a healthy dose of screen time as the star car on an episode of celebrity antiques road trip, with Tony Blackburn at the helm! Though tax and MOT exempt the car also bears a valid advisory free MOT until August 2027.

Cosmetically the car looks rather well, finished in a deep red hue throughout. The body and trim all present quite nicely, with minimal signs of wear, tear or blemishing etc. For practicality the car comes with fair weather gear - side windows and roof - along with a set of luggage racks, a tonneau and a fold down windscreen and aero screen setup.

Mechanically the Morgan seems quite happy, boasting a kent crossflow engine which the previous owner informs us has been bored to 1700cc and fitted with independent throttle bodies, ideal for use in the modern era. We have taken it for a short test drive around our farm and it performed very nicely.

A previous keeper of the car has informed us of the following spec and history of the car.

Comprehensively rebuilt BBM on a new chassis with all new alloy panels, apart from the steel scuttle and radiator cowl. These were never made in alloy for reasons of strength. Removed the mild steel stiffening wire along the edge of the wings because it was a common source of premature electrolytic corrosion around that time and replaced it with alloy wire.
The engine was pretty highly tuned being bored out to 1700cc. It had twin 40 Webbers with induction trumpets, swirl pot, a high lift cam, and modified cylinder head with big valves.

A distance buyer is requested to pay a £500 non-refundable holding
deposit via PayPal or Bank Transfer.

Due to the very nature of older vehicles and their vulnerability to
long-term storage, all our vehicles are sold as unroadworthy and should
not be driven on the public highway until fixed and made roadworthy
(whether showing a current MOT certificate or not).

By agreeing to purchase a vehicle from us, you accept and understand
that using this vehicle on the roads in GB would be unlawful in its
present condition, and that it will not be used on the roads in GB until
it has been put into a lawful condition.

For the reasons mentioned above, all vehicles bought from us must be
trailered away. We can assist all buyers with this request via a very
well-trusted third-party company we use regularly.

All vehicles remain the property of Classic Cars and Campers Ltd until
paid for in full.

Returns Policy

All vehicles bought from us from a distance will qualify for a 14-day
cancellation policy. From the total reimbursement amount, the £500
non-refundable holding deposit will be deducted (to cover our reasonably
incurred costs and losses) and a reasonable figure for any diminished
value. The buyer is responsible for the return cost and all damage
whilst in their possession.

If the sale is concluded on our premises, then the 14-day cancellation
policy does not apply.

Purchases are eligible for one week of free storage but will be charged at £25 per day
thereafter"
