STERLING S700 8MPH ROAD SCOOTER


Serviced, Tested, Cleaned and Tested. In GREAT CONDITION, with a few little marks from normal use and one small 'parking' crack to the front bumper. LOOKS GREAT AND RUNNING STRONGLY. Comes complete with basket and high capacity mains charger. FITTED WITH BRAND NEW BATTERIES.

If you're my sort of age, or older, you'll remember when Toy*ta introduce the Lex*s range to the UK. Their first car was the LS400, which was designed to take on the best European luxury cars. To a large extent it succeeded and was soon a common site on British roads. My father in law had one and I borrowed it once to go on a weeks holiday.



Other than giving the LS400 a huge powerful V8 engine, Lex*s didn't make any effort to make it at all 'sporty'. Instead they set the LS400 up to be effectively, a blancmange on wheels! It was without doubt the squishiest and most comfortable car money could buy. A car you could drive 400 miles in and get out feeling like you'd just nipped to the corner shop. A car that didn't just ride over bumps, it 'removed' them.



So why all this chat about cars in a listing for a mobility scooter?



Because the Sterling S700 is a bit like the big Lex*s. Big and undeniably comfortable.



You would think that all big scooters were comfy things, but no, not always the case.



I'll give you an example;The Kymco Maxer.



This is a very popular, well made, high quality scooter, also fitted with pneumatic tyres, but compared to the S700, they're like chalk and cheese.



The Maxer has ultra low profile tyres, which look very 'modern', but don't provide any real cushioning to the ride at all. The suspension on the Kymco uses fairly short and very stiff springs, that barely compress unless you weigh over 25 stone. The result is a very 'sporting' ride. The Maxer is a great scooter, but it is very much set up to be sporty and responsive, rather than comfortable.



The S700, on the other hand, is set up like a Lex*s. The tyres on it are pneumatic, just like the Kymco's, but are 'balloon style' with big tall sidewalls, which gives tremendous cushioning and bump absorption.



The rest of the S700 does the job too. It's a very solidly built thing, with a big comfy seat and plenty of room to stretch out.



AND



To make the S700 even more comfortable, you also get full front and rear coil sprung suspension.



If you want a scooter that you can use all day and still feel fresh, the S700 is a great choice.

I have lost sales before because I have advised a prospective buyer that the item they intended to buy from me was not suitable for their particular needs.

Mobility Scooters and Chairs are a very complicated subject, they come in a HUGE variety of different types and sizes and people do too, so matching one to the other requires knowledge and experience. I have both.


I've lost count of the number of first time buyers I've met, who have gone into their local mobility shop and been sold 'this week's special' by some slick suited sales person, whose only concern is shifting units and hitting their sales targets.


A couple of days later they realise the scooter or chair they've been pressured into buying is wholly unsuitable for them.


We don't work like that.
