When I give an opinion on a scooter or chair, it's not the opinion of a salesman, it's the opinion of someone who uses and understands what it's like to use mobility scooters and powerchairs.

The Apex Alumalite is Pride's answer to the problem that a lot of elderly and infirm people face.

'I'm not strong enough or well enough to lift my scooter in and out of my car.'

The average 'shopping' mobility scooter, like Pride's own hugely successful GoGo Elite Traveller, has a heaviest part of about 15kgs and a total weight of around 40kgs.

On the other hand, the alumalite weighs only 29kgs overall and it's heaviest part is just 11kgs.

A big difference and quite often the difference between being able to lift your scooter into your car and not!

Why is the Alumalite so light. As the name suggests, it's chassis is constructed not from steel, but from super strong and super light Aluminium.

This gives the Alumalite excellent strength and rigidity and of course makes it very light.

However, unlike some very light scooters, the Alumalite is more than just a 'supermarkets and smooth surfaces' scooter.

Whilst it isn't an 'off roader, it is more than capable of dealing with the lumps and bumps of today's pavements and even the odd off road adventure.

The ride quality is very good, manoeuvrability is good and the Alumalite is comfortable too.

If you're finding your existing scooter a bit heavy to handle, or you just want a nice lightweight scooter, then the Alumalite is a great choice.

We either deliver on our own transport, or use one of the big courier companies.

You are also welcome to collect from our base which is in Mawdesley, Lancashire.

Wherever possible we like to deliver personally, as we can demonstrate to you how your new scooter or powerchair operates, show you its features, answer any questions you may have and make sure you're perfectly happy with your purchase.
