Purchased the car in February 2023 as a project for me, brother & dad. Dad was a mechanic for the majority of his career and has undertaken - with son support ;-) - the majority of works listed below. Reason for sale: moving on to our next classic!
The car was in reasonable condition at the time of purchase, a rubber bumper example with a strong chassis and decent bodywork for its age.
Chassis remains strong with no rust issues.
Bodywork is decent condition, particular when considering the age. Roof and tonneau cover in excellent condition. Hard top will be provided with car, but requires refurbishment.
Interior is in great condition, seats and carpets unmarked.
Original Rostyle wheels will be included but require refurbishment.
Tyres in great, nearly new condition.
History file with lots of receipts.
List of modifications and enhancements since we've owned the car:
Front & rear 'facelift' / rubber bumpers removal (front conversion kit + mesh grill and clear indicators. Chrome rear quarter bumpers.)
Cylinder head refurbished & unleaded fuel converted
Minilight 13" alloy wheels and avon tyres (barely covered 50 miles!)
New intake manifold
Fully rebuilt twin HS4 carburettors
Four-branch exhaust manifold
Stainless steel exhaust system
New radiator & hoses
AccuSpark electronic ignition conversion
New clutch master/slave cylinders
New brake master cylinder and front discs/pads
New front suspension springs
Upgraded rocker cover
Various minor bodywork repairs / respraying
Lots of other minor parts (fittings, bulbs, filters, hoses/lines, accessories, etc.)
Great example of a much-loved British classic. Ideal for those venturing into classic car ownership, just like us a few years ago! Since taking ownership, we've covered very limited mileage (occasional local drives and classic car show attendance).
