Electrical Design Engineer

Description

We're looking for a Electrical Design Engineer to join our team based in Liverpool or London. Kier Design are a highly regarded Tier 1 Contractor, with a 750 plus strong design consultancy team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.

Location: Liverpool or London

Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Salary: starting from £40,000 per year

Are you…

Degree qualified in Electrical Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering and member of CIBSE or IET

Chartered Engineer or working towards becoming chartered

Demonstrating proven capability in electrical building services engineering

Possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly

Experienced in the application of quality procedures and document control in engineering design

What will you be responsible for?

As a Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be working within the Major Projects team, supporting them in delivering sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective electrical designs for large, complex construction projects.

Working collaboratively with clients, architects, and colleagues, you'll ensure sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective design delivery from concept through to construction. You'll play a key role in bridging client needs with engineering reality, leading the electrical design team and driving innovation for high-value projects.

This role offers the chance to develop standards, share best practice, and make a real impact on projects that shape our built environment.

Your day to day will include:

Providing high quality electrical designs and specifications that meet client requirements and brief

Providing high level technical advice in electrical building services engineering

Supporting electrical engineering in project design meetings, establishing solutions and working closely with colleagues and other design team members

Ensuring all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, industry standards and Kier Design standards and procedures

Promoting and implementing sustainable design solutions and developing innovative proposals to enhance the service
