Design Coordinator

Description

This role is ideal for someone with a building services or MEP background who enjoys technical coordination, reviewing design information and working closely with consultants and project teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

The position would suit either:

An experienced Design Coordinator or Design Engineer looking to move into a more coordination-focused role

orA junior/intermediate engineer with around 2-3 years' experience looking to develop within BIM and MEP project delivery.The Role

You'll be involved in:

Coordinating MEP design information across mechanical, electrical and public health disciplinesReviewing drawings, models and technical information for clashes and inconsistenciesSupporting BIM coordination and design workflows across live projectsLiaising with external consultants, architects and internal project teamsManaging design revisions, documentation and coordination recordsSupporting project delivery during both pre-construction and construction stagesAttending project meetings and assisting with technical coordination activitiesThe role will involve significant collaboration with external consultants delivering Stage 5 design packages across live projects.

What They're Looking For

Background within building services, MEP or design coordination environmentsGood understanding of MEP systems and technical coordinationFamiliarity with AutoCAD and/or RevitStrong organisational and communication skillsAbility to review technical drawings and identify coordination issuesProactive and collaborative working approachIdeally:

BIM coordination awarenessUnderstanding of BIM Level 2 workflowsPrevious consultancy, contractor or design-build experienceCandidates from either junior/intermediate or more experienced backgrounds will be considered.
