We are looking for a Skilled CNC Turner to join our team

(Programmer/Setter/Operator)

Location: Poole, Dorset

Salary: DOE – 39 hours at standard rate. Overtime at time and a half.

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours Mon–Thu 07:30–16:30, Fri 07:30–12:30

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Turner to join our precision engineering team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end production of high-quality components, from online programming at the machine to final inspection, ensuring all parts meet strict tolerances for key industries.

Key Responsibilities

Programming & Setting: Write, edit, and prove out new programs at the machine using Fanuc controls. Machine Operation: Set and operate CNC lathes (including live tooling and multi-axis) to produce low-to-medium volume batch work. Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD data, and GD&T specifications. Quality Control: Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, and gauges) provided. Tooling: Manage tool selection, setting offsets, and optimizing speeds and feeds for various materials. Maintenance: Conduct routine machine checks and basic maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

Skills & Experience Required

Proven Experience: Significant background as a CNC Turner, specifically in programming, setting, and operating. Technical Knowledge: Confident with Fanuc and a strong understanding of tight-tolerance machining. Qualifications: Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred. Attention to Detail: Ability to work independently to high-quality standards with a "right first time" attitude.
