DESCRIPTION

Unveiled at the 1998 Paris Motor Show, the Maserati 3200 GT marked a significant return to the marque’s grand touring heritage. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign, it combined elegant styling with impressive performance and sophisticated engineering. Production continued until 2002, when it was succeeded by the Maserati Coupé, also known as the 4200 GT.

EXTERNAL

The Verde Mexico Green Metallic paintwork beautifully complements the 3200 GT’s flowing bodywork and sculptured proportions. At the front, the prominent grille incorporates the iconic Maserati Trident, while the elongated bonnet, integrated headlamps and colour-coded bumper create a purposeful yet refined appearance.
The elegant side profile features a gently curved roofline, sweeping shoulder lines and pronounced rear haunches. Colour-coded mirrors, integrated door handles and frameless door glass contribute to the clean, uninterrupted design.
At the rear, the distinctive boomerang-shaped LED tail-lights provide one of the model’s most recognisable styling features, complemented by the sculptured bumper and twin exhaust outlets.
Finished in this particularly attractive shade of green, the car offers a distinctive alternative to more commonly encountered colours, combining sporting presence with traditional Italian elegance.

INTERIOR

The cabin features beige leather upholstery complemented by the original two-tone beige and black dashboard. Electrically adjustable front seats provide comfort and support, while the rear seating retains the practical four-seat configuration.
Matching beige leather door cards continue the coordinated interior theme. The dashboard houses the principal instruments, including the speedometer and tachometer, with the indicated mileage just over 16,400 miles. Secondary controls, climate-control equipment and audio components are arranged across the centre console.
The original Maserati steering wheel completes the driver-focused cockpit, while the contrasting dashboard finishes and green carpeting provide an individual colour combination. Overall, the interior reflects the model’s blend of Italian craftsmanship, sporting character and long-distance comfort.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Power comes from Maserati’s 3,217cc, 90-degree V8 petrol engine, featuring twin turbochargers, double overhead camshafts and 32 valves. Producing approximately 365 bhp and 362 lb-ft of torque, it delivers the strong performance expected of this celebrated grand tourer.

Power reaches the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission, identifying this version as the 3200 GTA. The combination provides progressive acceleration, effortless cruising and the convenience of automatic gear changes, while retaining the traditional rear-wheel-drive sporting character.

Designed to balance performance with refinement, the 3200 GT remains an engaging choice for both longer journeys and more spirited motoring.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

The car sits on its original 10-spoke Maserati alloy wheels, presented in immaculate condition with an excellent finish and no apparent kerb damage. Bright wheel bolts and Trident centre caps complete the authentic factory appearance.
Premium Michelin tyres are fitted throughout, with ample tread remaining. The staggered arrangement uses narrower front tyres and wider rear tyres to complement the rear-wheel-drive configuration.
Ventilated disc brakes are fitted front and rear, with four-piston callipers at each corner. The front discs measure approximately 330mm and the rear discs approximately 310mm. ABS assists in maintaining steering control during heavy braking.

First registered on 5 March 2001 by Maserati dealer GrayPaul of Loughborough, this example has had three previous keepers. The most recent keeper owned the car for approximately ten years and had previously owned it before subsequently repurchasing it.
