Wood Machine Operative – Manchester
This is a permanent, full–time opportunity based in Manchester, offering competitive pay, significant overtime opportunities and long–term stability within an established contract furniture manufacturer.

We are currently recruiting an experienced Wood Machine Operative to join a busy contract furniture manufacturing facility in Manchester.
The role involves setting up and operating edge banding machinery to produce high–quality finished furniture components. You will be responsible for adjusting machine settings, processing panels, checking finished products and carrying out basic machine maintenance.
Candidates with experience in contract furniture manufacturing are preferred, although applications are also welcomed from experienced candidates who have worked within domestic furniture production.
Shifts:
Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:15pm Friday: 7:00am – 12:00pm Regular overtime available Approximately 50–65 hours per week available during busy periods Overtime paid at % Benefits

Set up and operate edge banding machinery safely and efficiently Adjust glue temperatures, feed speeds, pressure rollers and trimmers according to panel and edging thickness Feed wood and composite panels smoothly through the machine Produce clean, sealed and professionally finished edges Inspect completed components for glue bleed, loose edging, chipping and other defects Carry out manual trimming and touch–ups where required Read and follow technical drawings, cut lists and production job sheets Clear wood dust and glue build–up from machinery Change trimming blades when required Carry out basic daily machine maintenance and troubleshooting Maintain high standards of quality throughout the production process Follow all health and safety procedures Requirements
Previous experience operating edge banding machinery Experience within contract furniture manufacturing is highly desirable Candidates with strong domestic furniture manufacturing experience will also be considered Good understanding of panel processing and furniture production Ability to set and adjust edge banding machinery Ability to read technical drawings, cut lists and job sheets Strong attention to detail and quality Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills Reliable with a positive attitude and good attendance Comfortable working within a busy manufacturing environment This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Wood Machine Operative looking for long–term stability, strong earning potential and plenty of overtime within a busy and established furniture manufacturing business.
