Description

We re currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join our next–day delivery operation. This is a key leadership role in a fast–paced, performance–driven environment. If you have a strong background in transport, a passion for safety and compliance, and the ability to lead a team with confidence and clarity, this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your logistics career.

The Role

As Transport Supervisor, you will oversee a team of professional drivers, ensuring operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You'll play a hands–on role in maintaining compliance, managing performance, and responding effectively to the day–to–day challenges of a dynamic logistics environment.

Standard working hours are 08:30 to 17:30 (with a 1–hour lunch), though some flexibility will be required based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee site–wide health and safety and transport compliance

Promote a proactive, safety–first culture across the team

Plan, monitor, and optimise delivery routes for maximum efficiency

Manage real–time operational changes, including volume fluctuations and scheduling

Support, coach, and develop drivers while addressing any compliance or performance concerns

Ensure vehicle maintenance and inspections are completed in line with regulations

Respond effectively to incidents such as vehicle breakdowns or delays

Monitor and manage the financial performance of the vehicle fleet

The Ideal Candidate

Proven experience in a Transport Supervisor or similar leadership role

Strong understanding of health and safety practices within a logistics environment

Confident managing and motivating teams to achieve performance targets

Familiarity with transport legislation and compliance (preferred but not essential)

Proficient with IT systems and comfortable working with data

Highly organised, detail–oriented, and calm under pressure

Excellent communication and problem–solving skills
