Description

Kinetic Industrial are looking for a practical and hands–on individual to join a leading global supplier of safety components and solutions to the railway industry.

This is a permanent opportunity suited to someone looking to start or develop their career within electronics, engineering or technical repair. You will work alongside experienced Technicians and receive full training and support, with a clear opportunity to progress to Technician level as your skills and experience develop.

Role:

Carrying out routine servicing and testing of electronic equipment

Preparing equipment for repair, servicing and overhaul

Supporting experienced Technicians with repair and refurbishment work

Using a range of test equipment as part of routine testing

Assisting with the identification of faulty components and equipment

Carrying out basic soldering and de–soldering where required

Recognising different electronic components and developing an understanding of their functions

Reading and following technical manuals, diagrams and product drawings

Completing relevant test results, paperwork and documentation accurately

Maintaining equipment, tools and inventory

Supporting general warehouse and administrative activities when required

Attending regular training and development workshops

Following company procedures and health & safety requirements

Identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and procedures

Working closely with experienced Technicians to develop your technical knowledge and skills

Requirements:

Previous experience within a technical, engineering, electronics or manufacturing environment is advantageous but not essential

A genuine interest in electronics, engineering or technical repair

Practical and hands–on approach to work

Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills

Good attention to detail

Reliable and organised

Good analytical and problem–solving skills

Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings or instructions

Good written and spoken English

Basic knowledge of MS Office

Previous electronics qualifications or completed exams would be advantageous but are not essential

Full training will be provided, so candidates with limited direct repair experience will be considered if they can demonstrate the right attitude, practical ability and willingness to learn.

Details:

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am – 3:30pm; Friday, 7:30am – 1:30pm

Job Type: Permanent

Training: Full training and support provided

Progression: Clear progression pathway to Technician level
