A market-leading UK food manufacturer supplying premium products across retail, B2B manufacturing, and foodservice sectors are currently seeking a Supply Chain Planner to support the Planning team due to business growth.
Reporting directly to the Planning Manager, the Supply Chain Planner will play a crucial role in supporting the high-speed factory to run smoothly. What You’ll Be Doing
* Production Scheduling: Assist the Planning Manager in building and fine-tuning daily and weekly production schedules across multiple processing lines to maximize yield and operational efficiency.
* Materials & Inventory Planning: Monitor raw material intake, packaging stock, and shelf-life constraints to ensure zero downtime on processing lines.
* Supply & Capacity Modelling: Help balance customer order volumes against plant capacity, yield forecasts, and lead times.
* Excel & Data Optimisation: Maintain, update, and enhance complex Excel spreadsheets and planning tools, turning raw operational data into actionable insights for site leadership.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely on-site with Production, Logistics, Quality, and Procurement teams to resolve scheduling clashes and adjust plans in real time.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented graduate or early-career analyst who thrives in a fast-paced environment:
* Degree educated Ideally: Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business, Finance, or Supply Chain Management
* Advanced Excel Skills: You are highly confident using functions like XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, complex conditional logic, and ideally basic Macros/VBA or data modelling.
* High Numeracy & Problem-Solving: Able to process complex numerical data quickly, spot trends, and find practical solutions under pressure.
* Strong Communication Skills: Able to explain complex data clearly to factory supervisors, operational managers, and commercial teams.
* Resilient & Adaptable: Thrives in a dynamic FMCG environment where production variables, yield changes, and customer demands shift rapidly.
* Based within commutable distance of our site in Shropshire.
What’s in It for You?
* Direct Mentorship: Work directly alongside an experienced Planning Manager who will coach you across production, material, and supply planning. xjnqpsq
* Career Growth: A clear pathway to progress into a full Supply Chain Planner, Demand Planner, or Site Planning Lead.
* High Visibility & Impact: See the direct results of your data modelling on the shop floor every single day.
