SHIFT TECHNICIAN – RF TESTING

Shift Pattern: 4 Days On / 4 Days Off – 24/7 Rotating Shifts

Location: Fareham

Are you an Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technician, Graduate or Engineer looking to develop your career in a highly technical testing environment?

We're working with a leading technology and testing organisation that is continuing to grow, and we're looking for a Shift Technician to join a brand–new, state–of–the–art test facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an engineering background who has some exposure to RF (Radio Frequency) testing and wants to build their practical experience within a specialist environment.

Importantly, you don't need to be a fully–fledged RF Engineer. If you've gained exposure to RF testing, spectrum analysers or oscilloscopes during your university degree, placement, apprenticeship or previous role, we'd be keen to hear from you.

THE ROLE

Working as part of a team of experienced technicians and engineers, you'll carry out RF testing on a wide range of products and technologies, helping customers ensure their products meet the required standards.

You'll work within a modern test facility and will be involved in:

Carrying out radiated RF testing in accordance with recognised standards, including ETSI and FCC.Following customer–specific test plans and automated test scripts.Setting up, operating and monitoring RF test equipment.Monitoring equipment calibration status throughout testing.Working directly with customers during attended testing.Liaising closely with Project Managers to ensure testing is completed accurately and on time.Accurately recording and documenting test results.Providing clear handovers and communicating progress at the end of each shift.Working as part of a close–knit technical team operating a 24/7 testing service.WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We're interested in speaking to people from a range of backgrounds, including:

Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technicians.Engineering graduates with some RF exposure.Junior RF/Test Engineers.Electronics Technicians.Candidates with practical engineering experience who have worked with test equipment.

You'll ideally have:

An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, OR practical hands–on engineering experience.Some experience or exposure to RF testing or RF test equipment – this can include experience gained during a university degree.Familiarity with equipment such as spectrum analysers and/or oscilloscopes.Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document results.Good communication and interpersonal skills.A conscientious, motivated and enthusiastic approach.The ability to work effectively as part of a technical team.The flexibility and willingness to work a 24/7 rotating shift pattern.Your own transport/access to the site, as public transport may not be available during some shift periods.THE SHIFT PATTERN

The role operates on a 4 shifts on / 4 shifts off rotation, covering 24/7 testing.

You'll rotate between:

9:45am – 10:15pm

and

9:45pm – 10:15am

Both shifts include a 30–minute break.

Don't worry if you haven't worked shifts before. Full initial training will be provided Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm before you move onto the permanent shift rotation.
