Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator / Welder to join a manufacturing company in Bristol. You'll be part of a well–established group of professionals who share a similar technical background and expertise.

Sheet Metal Fabricator / Welder Job Overview

Fabrication:

Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawingsAssemble components using hand tools and fabrication equipmentFollow specific customer requirements and specificationsOperate overhead cranes and apply safe lifting techniquesComply with SA Manufacturing's quality standardsContribute to the training and mentoring of apprenticesMaintain compliance with Health & Safety protocols

Welding:

Perform welding on a variety of steel grades and thicknesses, guided by detailed weld specificationsCarry out fillet and butt welding with both full and partial penetration jointsWeld in flat and positional orientations, primarily using MAG welding processesFollow official welding procedure specificationsUnderstand essential welding techniques including preheating, interpass temperature control, and other key process controlsParticipate in weld testing (minimum of two tests required)

Sheet Metal Fabricator / Welder Job Requirements

Completion of a formal Sheet Metal/Fabrication apprenticeshipProven experience in MIG weldingStrong hand–eye coordination and manual dexterityFamiliarity with 5S workplace organisation and ability to maintain a tidy, efficient work areaAdherence to quality and Health & Safety standardsWillingness to take direction and work under supervision as needed

Sheet Metal Fabricator / Welder Salary & Benefits

Working 39 hours per week – Monday to Thursday: 7:30 to 16:30 and Friday 7:30 to 12:30.Opportunities for career progression and personal developmentFree onsite parkingMonthly pay awards bonus up to 200 a monthWage dependent on experience up to 17.50 p/h
