QC Analyst Irvine, Ayrshire 27,000 – 29,000 + Benefits

Escape Recruitment is working with a well–established manufacturing business in Ayrshire that is investing heavily in its laboratory and quality capabilities. As part of this growth, they are looking to appoint a QA Microbiologist to support the introduction of in–house microbiological testing.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with commercial microbiology laboratory experience who enjoys a varied, hands–on role within a manufacturing environment. Graduates with a relevant industrial placement are also encouraged to apply.

The Role

Reporting into the Quality team, you'll be responsible for carrying out microbiological testing across raw materials, environmental samples and finished products, helping to ensure products meet the highest quality and regulatory standards.

Duties will include:

Microbiological testing of raw materials, environmental and finished product samplesIdentifying bacteria, yeast and mould contaminationEnvironmental monitoring and hygiene testingPreparing media and laboratory reagentsRecording, analysing and reporting test resultsInvestigating out of specification resultsSupporting laboratory validation activitiesMaintaining laboratory equipment and consumable stocksWorking closely with the wider Quality and Laboratory teamsSupporting continuous improvement within the laboratory

About You

We're interested in candidates who have:

A degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences or a related disciplineCommercial laboratory experience within a manufacturing environmentExperience of microbiological testing techniquesGood laboratory documentation and reporting skillsStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsThe ability to work both independently and as part of a teamThe right to work in the UK without sponsorshipGraduates who have completed a substantial industrial placement within a commercial laboratory are also encouraged to apply.
