Location: Glascoed

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: 12 months

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Morson are recruiting on behalf of BAE Systems for Production Operators to work across various areas of the shop floor at their Glascoed site.

The role involves operating a range of equipment, including machinery and mobile work tools, alongside manual handling activities. All work must be carried out in accordance with manufacturing instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality standards and risk assessments, under the guidance of the Cell Leader.

Role Responsibilities

Follow site safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Participate in audits and safety discussions to maintain a safe working environment.

Ensure all work meets the required quality standards and manufacturing specifications.

Accurately record work-related data to support process improvement.

Manage inventory effectively, minimise waste and handle rejected materials appropriately.

Carry out regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.

Adapt to different tasks and work areas in line with business requirements.

Coordinate work schedules and participate in meetings to support effective team communication.

Report to the Cell Leader and follow manufacturing instructions.

Essential Skills and Experience

Experience in CNC machining, surface treatments or stores environments.

Good quality awareness and an understanding of the importance of following procedures.

Desirable Skills and Experience

Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.

A proactive approach to work with good attention to detail.

Strong communication skills, including the ability to report on the status of an area or process.

Flexibility to work across different processes and areas of the shop floor.

Ability to maintain appropriate workplace standards.

A commitment to continuous improvement, problem-solving and delivering results.

Pay Rates

Standard shift (07:30–16:30): £17.54 per hour PAYE

Two-shift rotation (06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00): £20.70 per hour PAYE

Three-shift rotation (06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 / 22:00–06:00): £21.93 per hour PAYE

Two-shift and three-shift patterns rotate weekly. Shift patterns are determined by BAE Systems, and applicants must be available to work all shifts associated with their allocated pattern.

All advertised pay rates are PAYE rates.
