Press Brake Operator Chard Salary: GBP13.50 GBP14.00 per hour Hours: 38 per week

We are currently recruiting for a Press Brake Operator to join a progressive manufacturing team in Chard.

The Role As a Press Brake Operator, you will play a key role in the production process, setting up and operating press brake machinery to produce precision metal components. Working from technical drawings and specifications, you will ensure high–quality outputs that meet project requirements.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am 4:30pm

Friday: 8:00am 2:00pm

Total: 38 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

Operate press brake machinery to bend, shape and form metal components

Set up machines, including tooling and adjustments, for specific jobs

Read and interpret engineering drawings to achieve required tolerances

Carry out quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency

Maintain equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation

Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets

Follow health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements

Previous experience operating and setting up press brake machines is preferred, though full training can be provided for the right candidate

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work to precise measurements

Engineering background is essential

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good communication skills and proactive problem–solving approach

Physical stamina to meet the demands of the role
