Description

Our client, a prominent player in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Engineer to join their maintenance team. This is a permanent opportunity to provide essential mechanical maintenance and electrical support, contributing to the reliability and safety of various equipment and facility areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and repair all equipment and facility areas to the agreed standard, identifying detailed faults effectively.Complete daily checks on machines and equipment, including statutory checks within your capability.Work in shifts and provide out–of–hour call–in support as required.Identify and request necessary spare parts proactively.Ensure compliance with Safety, Environmental Regulations, and Company procedures during all activities.Maintain an awareness and understanding of the Company's environmental procedures and responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

Extensive experience in plant maintenance, preferably in a similar role.Mechanical or electrical background.Familiarity with working at heights.Knowledge of PVC pipework.Good understanding of pumps and motors.Preferred understanding of gas ovens, chiller units, and rectifiers.Preferred understanding of air handling units and air conditioning.

Education and Qualifications:

Preferred mechanical or electrical qualification.Apprenticeship preferred but not essential.

Personal Qualities:

Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.Proficient in using tools and equipment safely.Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.Effective in managing stress and meeting requirements.Competent in dealing with contractors on site.

Working Conditions:

Understanding of working conditions and environment in a COMAH site.Flexibility in working hours, including occasional overtime during weekends.Exposure to various greases and oils.Training and use of overhead cranes.Knowledge of manual handling.Prolonged standing with regular breaks.Handling heavy aircraft components and using maintenance components requiring physical strength.Eligibility to live and work in the UK without restriction.Mandatory training will be required.
