LEAD INFORMATION

Job Title – Packing Operative

Site location – St Helens

Responsible to – Production Manager

Purpose of the role – Responsible for a wide array of packing tasks across a large production facility including packing finished timber products, preparing orders for dispatch, quality checking, labelling, stacking and supporting site in any means possible.

Client brief – Our client is a large well renowned family-owned business in Manufacturing timber products based in St Helens and supply the retail trade and builders merchants across the UK.

KEY INFORMATION

Reason for vacancy – Increased demand

Contract – Temp to perm

Hourly Rate – £12.71ph

Shifts – Monday to Friday days, 8am-5.30pm

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role – The responsibilities of these positions are varied but not limited to -

*

Packing finished timber products safely and efficiently in line with site requirements and health and safety guidelines at all times.

*

Preparing, wrapping, stacking and securing finished products ready for storage and dispatch.

*

Quality Checking/Spot Checking products to ensure they meet site and client quality standards.

*

Ensuring products are correctly packed, labelled and prepared in accordance with customer order requirements.

*

Reporting any damaged products, packing issues or quality faults to management.

*

Supporting the production team with moving, loading and unloading finished products as required.

*

Ensuring packing stations and surrounding production areas are kept safe, tidy and clear of debris.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

*

Previous packing or production operative experience (ideally in timber industry).

*

Previous experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or packing environment is highly advantageous but not essential.

*

Good attention to detail with the ability to identify product defects and ensure packing standards are maintained.

Ability to carry out manual handling duties and work efficiently as part of a busy production team. xjnqpsq

Ability to follow instructions and read and write in English is essential.

*

A reliable, hardworking attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within the business is essential
