Packaging Technician Opportunity

Location: Hatfield, HertfordshireJob Type: Full-timeSalary: up to GBP42k depending on experience We are seeking a Packaging Operator to join our dynamic team. This role involves operating packaging lines specifically within a newly launched "cold chain" product, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and maintaining effective working relationships across various departments to support operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing within a regulated environment or have a background in engineering, with experience in pharmaceutical packaging operations.

Day-to-day of the role:

Operate packaging lines and participate in manual packaging operations, ensuring all activities are compliant with quality standards.Set up packaging equipment to ensure correct functionality, calibration compliance, and effective running of the lines.Dismantle, clean, and reassemble equipment, maintaining it in good condition.Conduct in-process tests, yield calculations, product sampling, and inspection to ensure production meets predefined quality attributes.Train and assess others in packaging activities, focusing on equipment setup, operation, and maintenance.Minimize downtime and maximize productivity through effective handovers and accurate line setups.Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and health and safety procedures in areas of responsibility.Write, review, and update packaging documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Participate in quality investigations, initiate deviations, and represent the packaging department in audits.Support the installation, qualification, and validation of new packaging equipment and tooling. Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong knowledge and experience in Packaging Engineering or substantial experience with pharmaceutical packaging lines.Good mechanical aptitude with excellent accuracy and documentation skills.Experience with automated packaging equipment.NVQ level 3 in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.GCSEs (C or above) in Maths, English, and Science.Additional qualifications such as HND/NHC in packaging technology are a bonus.Proficiency in MS Office suite and SAP.
