Nights Technical Team Leader

Location:Stoke–On–Trent

Salary: Up to GBP31,880 per annum

Working Hours: 9:00pm – 5:00am, Sunday to Thursday

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Team Leader to join a busy food manufacturing operation based in Stoke–On–Trent

This is a key role within the technical and factory operations team, responsible for supporting food safety, quality, compliance, training and factory standards across the night shift.

The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Quality Control and Factory Team Leaders to ensure processes and standards are consistently maintained, while identifying opportunities for improvement and addressing any quality or compliance concerns.

Key Responsibilities

Factory Oversight

Oversee factory operations with a focus on: Product traceability Allergen controls Metal detection Label verification NPD presence within production Ensure technical and food safety standards are consistently maintained across production.Identify and address any issues or concerns within the factory environment. Compliance & Training

Monitor staff compliance using the company's Core systemEnsure all staff training is completed and kept up to date in line with current site policies and proceduresSupport the development of employee competency through assessments, coaching and ongoing trainingPromote a strong culture of food safety, quality and compliance Meetings & Communication

Attend daily production planning meetingsHold regular meetings with the Quality Control teamConduct fortnightly meetings with Factory Team LeadersProduce a monthly report highlighting key topics, trends and concerns requiring management attentionEnsure effective communication between the Technical, Quality and Production teams Investigations & Reporting

Lead immediate investigations into food safety, quality and compliance issuesIdentify trends and recurring issues through investigation findingsRecommend and support appropriate corrective actionsProduce detailed findings for inclusion within the monthly Board Pack Auditing & Continuous Improvement

Carry out regular GMP auditsComplete glass and hard plastic auditsConduct hygiene audits and identify areas for improvementSupport continuous improvement initiatives across technical and production processesEnsure corrective actions are followed through and completed effectively Raw Materials & Quality Control

Carry out spot–check monitoring of raw material intakeProvide Quality Control support where requiredVerify that incoming raw materials meet required quality and food safety standardsEscalate any concerns relating to raw materials, quality or food safety appropriately About You

Previous experience within a technical, quality or food manufacturing environment Experience working within food safety and quality proceduresStrong knowledge of GMP, allergen controls, traceability and factory complianceExperience conducting audits and investigationsStrong attention to detail and excellent organisational skillsThe ability to identify issues, investigate root causes and implement corrective actionsExperience supporting and developing teams through coaching and trainingStrong communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues at all levelsA proactive approach to maintaining high standards and driving continuous improvementThe ability to work effectively within a busy manufacturing environment and manage priorities independently
