Description

£16.00–£18.00 per hour | Monday–Friday | Days | Permanent

We are looking for an experienced MIG Welder / Fabricator to join an established manufacturer in Grays.

This is a permanent workshop-based position working with steel and sheet metal, producing a range of fabricated products for the commercial security industry.

We're looking for somebody who is confident with MIG welding and general fabrication and can work accurately from drawings and measurements.

The Role

* MIG welding steel components

* Fabricating from sheet metal

* Working from engineering drawings

* Measuring, marking out and preparing materials

* Cutting, forming and assembling components

* Checking your own work and finished products

* Using general workshop machinery and equipment

The workshop also uses press brakes, guillotines and rollers, so previous experience with these would be useful, but we are still interested in speaking with good MIG Welder/Fabricators who haven't used every machine.

Key Skills & Background

* MIG welding mild steel

* Working with sheet metal

* Reading basic engineering/fabrication drawings

* Measuring and marking out accurately

* Working independently within a fabrication workshop

Experience with press brakes, guillotines, rollers or other sheet-metal machinery would be an advantage.

Formal welding/fabrication qualifications are welcome, but practical experience and ability are more important.

There will be a straightforward weld test as part of the process. xjnqpsq
