Assembler / Fitter – Electrical Control Boxes

Location: Birmingham (B18)

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Pay: Competitive – based on experience

Major Recruitment is currently recruiting for a skilled Assembler / Fitter to join a leading manufacturer based in Birmingham (B18). This is a temp–to–perm opportunity for someone with strong mechanical and basic electrical assembly experience, particularly with control boxes used in:

TurnstilesTraffic barriersSecurity gates and fencing systems

Role Responsibilities:

Assembly and fitting of electrical control boxes for security systemsReading and interpreting basic electrical and mechanical drawingsUsing hand–held tools such as screwdrivers, drills, crimpers, wire strippers, etc.Wiring and connecting components (switches, relays, connectors, terminals)Testing and inspecting completed assemblies for functionality and qualityMaintaining a clean and organised work area

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience in mechanical/electrical assembly or fittingConfidence working with hand and power toolsAbility to follow technical drawings and wiring diagramsA proactive and reliable approach to workGood communication and team–working skills

Desirable:

Experience in assembling control panels or similar low–voltage electrical systemsUnderstanding of basic electrical safety and wiring practicesBackground in manufacturing for the security or automation sectorWhat's in it for you?
