Description

Mechanical Assembly Operative – Aerospace

Denham | £35,500 | Permanent | Days

A globally recognised aerospace manufacturer in Denham is looking for a Mechanical Assembly Operative to join its Final Assembly team. You'll be carrying out precision mechanical assembly of components and sub-assemblies used in aviation safety systems for fighter jets, working to detailed technical drawings and exacting quality standards.

What you'll be doing:

Mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies using engineering drawings, technical specifications, and kits of parts

Using hand tools, torque equipment, and associated tooling

Carrying out self-inspection, stage inspection, and final certification of assembled components

Identifying and applying correct part numbers, drawing issues, and surface finishes

Recording work in progress and component traceability using shop floor systems

Adhering to quality, H&S, FOD, and ESD procedures

Supporting 5S and continuous improvement activities

Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and tool control

What you need:

Experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment

Ability to read and work from engineering drawings

Confident use of basic hand tools

Good manual dexterity with a methodical, accurate approach to work

Basic IT skills

SAP or similar manufacturing system experience desirable

Awareness of FOD and ESD controls desirable

This role is mechanically biased - candidates with a primarily electrical background are unlikely to be suitable.

What's on offer:

£35,500 per annum

Days: 08:00–17:00 Mon–Thu / 08:00–12:00 Fri

Overtime available if desired

Strong benefits package

Genuine progression opportunities

Long-term stability with over a decade of secured contracts

This is a permanent position with a respected name in aerospace manufacturing. Varied, hands-on work on safety-critical components, with real opportunity to develop a long-term career in a stable, well-established team.
