Description

Role Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer will develop new and existing production tools and processes to support a right first–time production culture. Supports production issues in a fast–paced environment to ensure business targets are met. Able to manage and lead tasks with minimal support, whilst, collaborating with multiple business functions.

Core Responsibilities

Designs and develops tooling and processes to support manufacturing of metallic systemsCreates and maintains manufacturing instructions and standard operation proceduresOptimise productivity and design for manufactureSupports industrialisation of new products using project management skillsSupports production to optimise tooling for legacy productsSupports quality with production repair instructionsWorks with and manages suppliers to support production with replacement toolingUse RCCA tools to resolve challenging production issuesUses project management techniques to drive continuous improvement projects from cradle to graveUses cost data to assess most cost–effective methods/design of productsApplies multiple continuous improvement toolsOther responsibilities as assigned

Role Specifications

Skills:

Highly skilled with CAD, modelling and creating technical drawingsAble to create manufacturing sequences of multiple level assembliesGood organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situationsExperience using MRP systemsStrong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completionAbility to perform PFMEA assessments and support PPAP deploymentAssess fabricated and machined components for design for manufactureAble to use cost data to assess capital investmentExperience with welding processes and non–destructive testing desirableStrong project management skills using project management tools (MS Project) desirableExperience performing make vs buy assessments using cost data desirable

Education:

Degree in an engineering/science discipline or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectation.

Schedules:

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, office based.

Hours of Work: Your normal working hours will be 37 hours per week, 8.5 hours per day Monday to Thursday and 5 hours on Friday. Lunch breaks are 30 minutes in duration and timings will be advised on your first day.
