Manual Machinist - Aerospace & Power Generation

Location: Sheffield

Pay: £14-19p/h DOE & shift

We are seeking skilled Manual Machinists to join our clients team, machining centrifugally spun castings for the Aerospace and Power Generation industries. While time-served experience is preferred, it is not essential. You will work with a range of stainless alloys, ensuring high-quality precision machining.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine large castings to spec.

Operate various manual machines, including lathes and horizontal & vertical borers.

Ensure production deadlines are met efficiently.

Perform visual inspections of machined castings.

Properly mark swarf drums for alloy identification.

Work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Maintain safety standards in all activities in line with company procedures.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum 3 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to produce precise components.

Proficiency in working to tight tolerances and using measuring equipment accurately.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Self-motivated but also an effective team player.

Flexible approach to work, including overtime and shift work.

Solid understanding of health & safety, environmental standards, and quality control.
