We are looking for a Maintenance Support Technician to join a busy Engineering team, playing a key role in maintaining production equipment, supporting preventative maintenance activities, and ensuring machinery is kept to the highest standards of cleanliness and operational readiness.

Working closely with Shift Maintenance Engineers, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with a practical mindset, strong attention to detail, and previous experience supporting maintenance or engineering activities within a manufacturing environment.

Role Overview

As Maintenance Support Technician, you will support the Engineering function through a combination of machinery deep cleaning, preventative maintenance activities, equipment preparation, and hygiene compliance. Operating within a food manufacturing environment, you will help ensure production equipment remains safe, efficient, and available to meet operational demands.

Maintenance Support Technician Key Responsibilities

Support Shift Maintenance Engineers with preventative maintenance activities

Carry out deep cleaning of production machinery, including the safe removal and replacement of guards and machine components under supervision

Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and equipment cleanliness across the site

Complete maintenance and hygiene documentation accurately and in line with company procedures

Identify and report equipment faults, damage, or safety concerns promptly

Support post-clean inspections and hygiene verification processes

Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production, and Hygiene teams to minimise downtime and maximise equipment availability

Contribute towards departmental KPI targets through efficient and effective working practices

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, HACCP, BRCGS, and site hygiene requirementsMaintenance Support Technician Key Requirements

Previous experience within a maintenance, engineering support, manufacturing, or food production environment

Confident using hand tools and carrying out practical maintenance-related tasks

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards

Able to work independently whilst also contributing xjnqpsq positively within a team environment

Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices

COSHH awareness would be advantageous

Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments

Reliable, organised, and able to perform effectively within a fast-paced production environmentThis is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established food manufacturing business where you will play an important role in supporting site operations and maintaining high standards of engineering excellence, food safety, and equipment performance.
