Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) – Braintree – Day Shift – Full time – 52,000 (DOE)

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well–established manufacturing company based in Braintree. This is a full time, permanent opportunity offering long–term stability, annual pay increases, bonus opportunities. With in house training and tickets provided, its a great place to develop your skillset. This role would suit an experienced mechanical maintenance professional who enjoys hands–on work, problem–solving, and learning bespoke machinery.

About the role:

Working alongside the on–site Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the planned preventative maintenance and upkeep of all ancillary plant and production equipment. The environment is physical, industrial, and demanding, working with graphite–based materials, so resilience and a strong work ethic are essential. Best suiting an individual with commissioning, decommissioning and welding experience.

Key Responsibilities

Heavy mechanical bias Planned preventative maintenance on ancillary plant equipment including Scales, Stitchers and CompressorsMechanical fault–finding and breakdown supportWorking at height from gantries and access platformsHealth & safety inspections and compliance checksSupporting continuous improvement and reliability of plant equipmentWorking collaboratively within a 13–person workshop teamThe Ideal Candidate

Proven mechanical maintenance engineering backgroundStrong mechanical design knowledge and analytical thinking skillsComfortable working in a physical, dirty environmentWillingness to learn bespoke and specialist machineryGood communication skillsWelding background Desirable (for top salary bracket):
