1x Laser operator – GBP16.50 per hour / GBP22.30 UMB

The Laser Operator is 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm, 10pm – 6am rotating shift

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Laser Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. You will work closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met.

How You'll Make an Impact:

– Set up and operate Fibre and NDYAG 5 Axis lasers to produce precision parts.

– Read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications to determine machining operations.

– Measure and visually inspect completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to manufacturing specification.

– Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

– Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

– Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety procedures.

– Document and report production data, including quantities, dimensions, and any deviations from specifications.

– Working Shifts providing continuous production to support customer deliveries.

What You Bring:

– Preferably completed a recognized full level 3 apprenticeship. Candidates with an NVQ level 3 or technical certificate in a relevant engineering field will also be considered.

– Proven experience as a Laser Operator in a manufacturing environment.

– Proficiency in using Heidenhain for Fibre and NDYAG 5 Axis Lasers.

– Experience of working with Nickel alloy materials.

– Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.

– Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.

– Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross–functional teams.

– Good computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes.

– A proactive outlook towards work and continuous improvement.
