Large CNC Turner

Overview

We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner to join a busy precision machining environment manufacturing small batch, high–precision components for highly regulated industries. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience setting and operating large CNC lathes and working with Mazak and/or Fanuc control systems.

Hours: 39 hours per week

Rate: GBP18–22/hour DOE (Setting vs Operating vs Programming etc)

Core Shift:

Monday to Thursday: 6:45am to 3:30pm Friday: 7:00am to 1:00pm 30–minute unpaid lunch break Key Responsibilities

Program, set and operate CNC lathes, including reading, editing and optimising CNC programs. Follow manufacturing procedures, set–up sheets and work instructions to ensure consistent production. Interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances with a strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Manufacture precision components to customer specifications and quality requirements. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with quality standards, engineering documentation and customer requirements. Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping at all times. Work effectively both independently and as part of a manufacturing team. Carry out additional production duties as required to support the business. Skills and Experience

Essential

Right to live and work in the UK. Minimum of three years' experience machining large components within a high–precision manufacturing environment. At least five years' experience operating CNC lathes with Mazak and/or Fanuc control systems. Experience working from engineering drawings, job cards and manufacturing work instructions. Broad knowledge of machining processes across a variety of engineering materials. Experience handling, protecting and machining precision manufactured components. Ability to program, set and operate a range of CNC machine tools. Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles. High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safe working practices. Desirable

Knowledge of modern cutting tools and machining techniques. Experience programming Mazak and/or Fanuc controls. Experience using hydraulic and manual steadies for machining large components. Benefits
