CMM Inspector

Location: Leicestershire

Commutable from: Loughborough, Hinckley, Nuneaton, Market Harborough, Coalville and Melton Mowbray

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Hours: Day shift – rotating pattern

Job Type: Permanent

Applicants must have previous CMM inspection experience within precision engineering or a similar manufacturing environment.

The rotating pattern includes regular blocks of between two and five consecutive days off:

2 on/4 off, 3 on/2 off, 2 on/5 off, 2 on/3 off, 2 on/2 off and 3 on/4 off.

The Opportunity

An established aerospace engineering business is looking for an experienced CMM Inspector to join its specialist quality team.

You will inspect precision–manufactured components using CMM and manual inspection equipment, ensuring they meet company and customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Undertake CMM, manual, visual and final inspectionsEvaluate CMM data and make accurate inspection decisionsUse hard gauges, DTIs and other manual inspection equipmentComplete first–off, patrol and final inspectionsInterpret engineering drawings and technical specificationsDevelop and improve CMM inspection methodsSupport New Product Introduction projectsMaintain accurate inspection and quality recordsReport non–conformances and liaise with production and quality teamsSupport 5S, Lean and continuous improvement activitiesCandidate Requirements

Previous CMM inspection experienceBackground in precision engineering or quality inspectionAbility to interpret engineering drawingsExperience working to documented quality proceduresStrong understanding of inspection and acceptance criteriaExcellent attention to detailAccurate record–keeping and organisational skillsGood communication and problem–solving abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExperience within aerospace manufacturing, visual inspection, NPI or inspecting precision–machined components would be advantageous.
