Description

Job Title: Health and Safety Officer

Location: Scunthorpe

Salary: 35-40k DOE

Contract Type: Full-time 9am-17pm Monday - Friday

About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Officer to join our team. You will play a vital role in ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors by implementing and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures.

Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections.

Investigate accidents and incidents, and produce reports with recommendations.

Deliver health and safety training and inductions.

Ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation.

Liaise with external bodies such as HSE and emergency services when required.

Promote a positive health and safety culture across the organization.

Requirements:

NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification.

Proven experience in a health and safety role, ideally within manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Desirable:

Membership of IOSH or similar professional body.

Experience with health and safety software or reporting tools.
