Job Summary:

Our client GKN url removed)/) are currently sourcing for a Goods Inward Material Handler to work at their facility in Luton (postcode is LU2 9PQ)

The role will primarily involve moving materials in and around the site, straddling the Material Handler duties with more Goods Inwards based tasks. Candidate must be physically able to deal with lifting and carrying, as well as being capable of spending long periods of time on their feet. Any prior forklift driving and or/SAP experience would be beneficial

Key Responsibilities:

Use adequate equipment to move material i.e. ForkliftOff–loading of vehiclesUse SAP (ERP system) to replenish and/or transfer materials prior to delivering linesidePick & deliver materials using various trolleys, pallet trucks and lifting equipmentLocate stock in designated storage locations post goods receiptInventory cycle counting of stores and lineside stockDispose of scrap materials and hazardous wastemaintain stock accuracySupport Goods in receiving and booking inReplenish Kanban systemsRecord movement of material in the transactional record systemsFollow standard work for material handlingPerform all activities in accordance with the safety and quality rulesMake proposals to improve safety, quality, and efficiencyReact to changes in demand on materials requirements and monitor visual replenishment requirementsMaintain a clean work environment including assigned storage monitoring and cleaning dutiesEnsure compliance with the companies environmental, health and safety and energy procedurescomply with Logistics procedure Experience:

Physically fit (role involves being on your feet for long periods as well as large amount of lifting/carrying)Computer literateFamiliarity with warehouse environmentPrevious forklift truck driving experience beneficialPrior SAP experience beneficialPrior Material Handler / Goods Inwards / Storekeeping experience beneficial
